Back to GC level 3

Postby Jasmine on Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:25 pm

Hi,
I used level 6 Green Cream a few years ago and stopped for a couple of years. I would like to start back again using level 3 only. I seem to be getting more wrinkles now  I have been using a 10% lactic acid for a year once every two weeks. Now if I stary using level 3 GC will I need any other exfoliant? I have dry, very sensitive/rosacea type skin in the cheek area only, but I would like to use retinol again.

Thank you :D

Jas,
If you have dry sensitive skin with rosacea like symptoms I would ask why you would use a lactic acid? That will dry and irritate the skin. Your best bet IMO is to lay off the exfoliant while you adapt back to the retinoid and only recommend an AHA for exfoliation a couple of months after you have adapted to a retinoid. Please let me know if you have other questions...just remember that patience is a virtue when using a retinoid! :D

I really haven't had a problem at all with the 10% lactic acid I have been using, it hasn't caused me any rosacea like symptoms. It might be getting a little drying now though. I just started using a little leave on 10% lactic acid type cream and that might be less drying. I have just always been afraid to use any Green Cream on the sides of my nose to cheek area, since I'm so sensitive there, so I thought I would start with level 3 this time. I could never use the level 6 on my cheeks.

So do you think it would be okay to start with some GC level 3 now or should I wait a few weeks since I used some a 10% lactic acid cream a few days ago. I'm sorry my skin is kind of compicated. :)

Thank you for the help.

Jas,
It's not complicated at all. The more information you give me, the more I can of help to you.

I would wait a few weeks before you start the GC and completely lay off the lactic acid for a few months while you acclimate. I hope this helps! :)

Thank you Kevin for your quick and helpful advice. That's what I'll do then and I will start out in a small, not so sensitive area first.

Thank you!

Hi,
I have another question. Do I really need any other kind of exfoliation while using level 3 Green Cream. I really dont want to use any if I dont have to since I have dry sensitive skin anyway. I'm afraid it would just irritate me more. So do I need it or will the Green Cream be enough? :)

And one more question. I have a tiny bit of level 3 left from about 2 to 2 1/2 years ago maybe a little older. If I use what is left in that will it be stronger ore weaker in strength will it cause more irritation being so old?

Thank you :D

Jas,
You don't need an exfoliant, but if you can tolerate it, it will help the performance of Green Cream.

We have tested Green Cream after it has been bottled and it had only degraded 0.2% after 4 years. So, the bottle you have should be fine.
Thanks,
Kevin

Jasmine, I have just started back on Level 3 myself...I am using a 4% Mandelic Acid toner, 2x a day, before Green Cream and getting fantastic results...no irritation...apparently mandelic is less harsh, better for sensitive skin, but it shapes up the pores and keeps breakouts to a minimum...
