impressed, but am i purging?

Postby stevo on Sun Dec 27, 2009 10:20 pm

hi,

ive been using green cream for about weeks now and i must say im very impressed. the 2 main reasons why im using green cream is for my comedonial acne and for the red/brown marks that have been left by old acne. in a week of using it, the comedonial acne on my forehead had pretty much gone( and trust me my head was full of little bumps, it was like a blind mans dictionary). because i saw these results in a week, i thought that maybe i would not get the purge, but now i have started to notice red dots on my checks and i have had a few yellow headed spots. the red dots are not painfull. would you say that this is the purge and if so how long does it last for, will i be purging all the way til the 6-8 week?

stevo,
You will get best results if you use the retinoid at night and the bha during the day. However, I would not recommend the Paula's Choice BHA. In my opinion it is too harsh and is not as effective as the Scienceuticals http://www.skinceuticals.com/_us/_en/catalog/correct/Blemish-Control-Gel.htm

thanx for the reply kevin, so will i get the purge til week 6-8 or should the purge subside sooner. i dont get loads of cystic spots, probs 1 or 2 a week, but i do have more comedonal acne.

plus like i said, the tone and texture of my skin is bad. if you look closely at it, the colour of it, is made up of little brown and red patches. its not like a mono skin colour. is green cream good for this sort of thing, or should i use a pigment lightening product, to lighten the colour of my skin?

sorry for all the questions, this is something that has bugged my life for a while and i do have a lot of hope with green cream.

thanx

p.s using level 3 at the moment, but going to order level 6 soon, didnt get any irratation or peeling with level 3.

Stevo,
The retinoid will definitely help with the skin tones. However, to get through this purging you really need to get to Level 6 as soon as possible. Don't worry about asking questions...that's why we are here! :D

hey kevin,

had a bad day today, went to work and looked in the mirror in my car and yuk!!! for the past few months ive seemed to be getting spots around the area where my cheeks meet my nose and i could see all the brown/red marks aswell. i know its only bin 3 weeks on level 3, thats why i have ordered level 6 now. hopefully level 6 will kick things into action.

i have uploaded a picture aswell, this is so you can see the problem im having. hopefully you can see the brown marks that are around my forehead and temple. then on my cheek start to see some red marks(old spots). adn can see the texture of my skin, where the flash from the camera is. those brown/red marks pretty much make up the colour tone of my face. im just hoping green cream will help it out.

p.s is green cream good for reducing oil aswell?

Thanks for the photo! Its worth a thousand words. I just don't think Level 3 is for you and the quicker you get on Level 6, the better shape you are going to be in. You definitely going through a purge and Level 3 is only going to get you stuck there.

Just looking at your skin, I think the smoothness and blemishes should subside rather quickly once you get on 6, but the oilyness may last some time. The only thing that is going to help that is tissue. Its better to go through this stage in the winter rather than the summer, so your timing is perfect.
